Alex Kurland

Alex joined Menlo Ventures in 2026 and helps lead the firm’s growth-stage investing practice. He focuses on AI-native companies across infrastructure, software, and financial technology.

Alex was previously a partner at Meritech and Kleiner Perkins, where he invested in Clay, Datadog, DoorDash, Kalshi, Looker, OpenEvidence, Slack, Snowflake, and UiPath.

Alex gravitates toward highly technical and ambitious founders. He believes people and talent are the atomic unit of every generational company and, especially in today’s competitive environment, companies need a mission that inspires and attracts the type of people who can shape the future.

On a personal note, Alex lives in Mill Valley with his wife, daughter, and French Bulldog.
