Ryan Hand

Head of Insights

As Head of Insights at Menlo Labs, Ryan collaborates closely with our venture studio founders to refine their broad ideas and initial concepts into focused, viable business opportunities. Ryan’s expertise lies in the field of research, where the primary objective is to help founders identify and hone innovative solutions to solve real problems. This involves focusing on essential aspects such as understanding the target user and buyer, analyzing the competitive landscape, assessing market size, and evaluating MVP capabilities, among other critical considerations.

Prior to Menlo, Ryan was Vice President, Venture Insights at Redesign Health, where she spent four years building and leading up the research function. She leveraged varying methodologies to gain an in-depth understanding of prospective buyer and user experiences, unmet needs, and motivations, that, in turn, informed target audiences, MVP definition, and market sizing activities. Her team’s insights were leveraged to support business innovation and strategic decision making across the ideation, development, and launch of 40+ companies.

Ryan started her career in academia during her undergrad at Cornell University and while pursuing a master’s at Columbia University. Her research initially focused on the behavioral and public health sector before she pivoted into working as a researcher at early-stage tech startups. Ryan lives in downtown Manhattan and often spends time at the farm she grew up on in Far Hills, NJ.
