Darcy Yee

As a marketing and communications lead, Darcy splits her time between promoting the firm, our investors, and our portfolio companies. Darcy helps early-stage startups become household names and supports our investors in becoming known. 

Before joining Menlo Ventures, Darcy spent her career at the intersection of technology and storytelling, helping high-growth startups like Lyft, Opendoor, Grubhub, and Airbnb craft narratives that matter. Her experience spans across agencies and in-house at technology companies, working with brands to translate complex products into messages that resonate. At Opendoor, she built communications programs and campaigns that scaled along the business, including turning research into national headlines and advising executives through major company milestones. At Lyft, she navigated a high-visibility growth phase to increase positive brand awareness through the spotlight of an IPO and company transformation. At Menlo, she continues to do the same: shaping the firm’s brand, amplifying founder voices in a crowded landscape, and building the comms engine that takes defining moments and helps portfolio companies shine. 

Darcy is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a bachelor of arts in Journalism. She is a Bay Area native and can often be found cheering on the Giants, Warriors, Valkyries or 49ers, or exploring the city’s amazing parks with her two children.
